Acupuncture points lie along energy-linking channels that connect internal organs to extremities, as well as to each other, creating a network system.
Hair-thin needles are inserted into these points to activate the qi (energy) in a specific network or networks. Acupuncture, alone or in combination with other treatment modalities, restores the smooth flow of qi.
Acupuncture is useful for, but not limited to, the following:

What to Expect
Initial Treatment
Your first session will include a detailed medical history, question and answer process, tongue and pulse diagnostics and a full-service treatment. A treatment guideline, advising frequency and content of additional treatments, is established at this time.
Follow-Up Treatments
Your follow-up treatments include a check in-update on how you are doing and a full-service treatment. Treatments are both relaxing and rejuvenating.
During every Acupuncture session, you will have space (sometimes all we need to heal is space) and time to attune your life’s rhythm.
Treatment Types
Teens
Can Chinese Medicine be helpful to teens? Yes, Indeed! The space between being a kid and acting like an adult — where your whole world seems to be in transition — is a perfect time for Chinese medicine to aid hormone regulation, mental health, anxiety, overwhelm, depression, eating disorders, attention imbalance, acne, sports injuries/concussions, headaches, life direction, fatigue, and more, without medications or side-effects.
The atmosphere is safe, private, and comfortable. Treatments can include acupuncture or be needle-free and may include craniosacral, cupping, moxa, nutritional advice, herbal medicine, or qigong. Finding your balance as a teen has positive life-long effects.
Kids/Peds
Kids and wee ones often need care too. Trauma, injury, seizures, compromised immune systems, respiratory illnesses, or other concerns can all be treated gently, effectively, and naturally.
The atmosphere is safe and soothing. Treatments can include calming craniosacral, tantalizing tuning forks, amazing acupressure, happy herbals, or ninja needles — in and out as fast as a ninja.
Acupuncture and Eastern Medicine are also beneficial for senior health, women’s health, men’s health, and pets’ health.
(Our apothecary has herbal medicines for your pets!)
Needle- free
Not sure needles are your healing tools of choice — at least not yet? No worries.
A treatment consisting of acupressure, healing Qigong, craniosacral therapy, tuning forks, or bodywork can be done to enliven your channels, without the poke.
Cupping
Cupping can be combined with an acupuncture treatment or applied as a solo treatment. Though various cupping methods and cup styles are available, we utilize the traditional method of fire cupping which uses glass cups that are suctioned onto the body, mainly the back. We also mainly use the moving style which means cups glide up and down the back (or other areas) providing a profound tension melting sensation.
Cupping brings blood to the surface, breaks up stagnation/tension, clears organs like the lungs and moves fluids such as blood and lymph. Cupping is useful for upper respiratory conditions, tension, pre-post workout protocol, toxin removal, and general channel opening. Usually once patients experience cupping they ask for it again and again.
